Integration of migrants in the Czech Republic - their involvement in everyday life and labour market integration

Sdružení pro integraci a migraci (SIMI, The Association for Integration and Migration) is a human rights NGO that protects the rights of foreigners in the Czech Republic, located in Prague 3, Baranova 33. SIMI is focused mainly on free legal, social and psychosocial counselling which is provided to all migrants regardless of their residence status. It helps them to solve problems connected with staying in the Czech Republic, employment, housing, education, social security or health insurance. Consultation is provided personally, by telephone or email. SIMI also initiates various national and international campaigns or joins such events and is a member of networks of organizations dealing with migration, the fight against racism and the rights of refugees and migrants in Europe. As part of its work, SIMI is actively involved in the development and tries to influence migration and asylum legislation in the Czech Republic. The NGO makes suggestions, publishes expert articles, participates in statements of non-profit organizations focusing on migration, and in its long-term advocacy efforts SIMI strives for a better and more friendly setting of conditions for the life of foreigners in the Czech Republic.
